Q&A
What is your most unusual talent?
I’ve been trying to figure this one out for a while now. Unfortunately my most unique talent so far is being a real good baker.
What is the scariest thing you've ever done?
Deciding that racing bikes professionally was a good idea lol
Why do you like working with Gnarly?
Well, I like having support from local companies firstly. It’s nice to actually have friendships with some of you. Second, the products are perfectly tailored to my lifestyle, so it's a win-win.
Do you collect anything?
Yes a few things: Stress, bike parts & friends.
Outside of your respective sport, what are you most proud of?
Definitely most proud of finding the courage to be vulnerable, live the life I want to and develop a unique voice/life outlook of my own.
If you could only eat one meal for the rest of your life what would it be?
Honestly, my grandma’s black beans & rice. A family recipe passed down & only comprehended by a chosen few outside the family.
Who is your hero? Why?
I don’t have one I guess. My hero is anyone who has transcended unfortunate life circumstances and can now see the world beyond one singular lens.
Any advice for aspiring athletes?
Being an athlete isn’t one dimensional anymore. Practice your craft because it sits at the core of what you want to do, but don’t fold to outside influences. Your greatest tool is being your authentic self.
Please choose two Gnarly products to recommend.
Easy. My daily tools are Gnarly Whey and Collagen. I find that I’m always low on protein at the end of every day so simply adding a scoop (or two) and some collagen to my oatmeal in the morning or a shake in the afternoon helps keep me on track.
As a mountain biker, I’m also always wrecked so having that collagen really helps my joints, ligaments & injuries to feel better faster for the continued carnage. It’s also a worthy mention that my partner is a vegan (which makes me a part-time vegan) and the Vegan Protein + BCAA’s help her in the same ways on the daily.
